# Account IP whitelisting

Limit DoesQA sign-in to approved IP addresses and CIDR ranges under Settings → Security.

Limit who can sign in to your DoesQA account to networks you trust. When the control is on and at least one address is listed, people sign in only from those IPs or CIDR ranges.

Off by default. Until you turn it on and add addresses, sign-in works as usual.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Only the **Account Owner** can change these settings. Set this up carefully: it is possible to lock yourself out of the account. If that happens, contact support.
{% endhint %}

## Turn it on

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

## Open Security

Go to **Settings → Security**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Enable IP whitelisting

Turn on **IP Whitelisting**.

DoesQA adds your current network when the list is empty, so you stay able to sign in from where you are working.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Review the list

Confirm the **Current IP** info matches the network you expect. Add office, VPN, or other approved ranges as needed.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Add or edit an address

1. Choose **Add IP** (or edit an existing row).
2. Set a clear **Name** (for example `Office` or `VPN`).
3. Enter an **IPv4**, **IPv6**, or **CIDR** value.
4. Save.

Use CIDR when a whole network should be allowed (for example a corporate range). Use a single IP when only one address should sign in.

## Turn it off

Turn off **IP Whitelisting** on the same page. Your list is kept, so you can turn the control back on later without re-entering addresses.

## If someone cannot sign in

They see **IP address not allowed** when their network is outside the list. Ask your **Account Owner** to open **Settings → Security** from an allowed network and **Add IP** (or edit a CIDR) for the network you need. After they save, sign in again from that network.

If the Account Owner is also blocked, use **Contact support** on the blocked screen.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Pro tip:** Before you travel or switch to a VPN, add that network while you can still open **Settings → Security** from an approved address.
{% endhint %}
